Biometric Aadhaar GST Advisory for Rajasthan Applicants

The Goods and Services Tax Network (GSTN) has introduced new measures to enhance the GST registration process for applicants in Rajasthan. Here are the key points to keep in mind:

Key Updates

1. Amendment to Rule 8 of CGST Rules, 2017:-

Applicants can now be identified on the common portal through data analysis and risk parameters for Biometric-based Aadhaar Authentication. This includes taking a photograph of the applicant and verifying the original documents uploaded with the application.

2. Implementation in Rajasthan:-

This new functionality has been developed by GSTN and was rolled out in Rajasthan on January 7th, 2025.

3. Document Verification and Appointment Booking:-

After submitting the application in Form GST REG-01, applicants will receive an email with one of the following links:

  • OTP-based Aadhaar Authentication: Proceed with the application as per the existing process.
  • Appointment Booking: Book an appointment to visit a GST Suvidha Kendra (GSK) for Biometric-based Aadhaar Authentication and document verification.

4. Appointment Booking for GSK:-

This feature is now available for applicants in Rajasthan. After booking, applicants will receive a confirmation email with the appointment details.

5. Required Documents for GSK Visit:-

Applicants must carry the following:

  • A copy of the appointment confirmation email.
  • Details of jurisdiction as mentioned in the intimation email.
  • Original Aadhaar Card and PAN Card.
  • Original documents uploaded with the application.

6. Biometric Authentication and Document Verification:-

This process will be conducted at the GSK for all required individuals as per the GST application Form REG-01.

7. Appointment Scheduling:-

Applicants must choose an appointment within the maximum permissible period indicated in the intimation email. ARNs will be generated once the Biometric-based Aadhaar Authentication and document verification are completed.

8. GSK Operation Days and Hours:-

The operation days and hours of GSKs will follow the guidelines provided by the state administration.
